Album cover “SUMMER GROOVE”

In this project, I worked with Bile (@bile.wtf) as the Designer and Art Director and Ívanno José Brabo (@soletrabraba) as the Designer and Letter Artist. Inspired by the jamaican Dancehall culture and brazilian periphecal culture from Bahia, we created colorful pieces that evoked the concept of groove for the 5th studio album from ÀTTOOXXÁ, “Summer Groove”.
As the band stated for the concept of its album,“Groove is the perfect synchrony between percussion, bass, guitar and all the instruments involved. It’s the musical foundation of all black music movements, and pagodão is black music. It’s an expression of our culture, our people and our roots. Pagodão is groove like the blues, it’s groove like funk, it’s groove like disco, it’s groove like Afrobeat. Groove is black music and black music is universal”.

The fashion style from artists such as Betty Davis (70s Funk singer), Itamar Assumpção, Sun Ra and Tyler, the Creator served as inspiration for the creation of the garments from each band member represented. Another 10 illustrations were additionally made, that symbolized the themes of the album and that gave visual support for the main cover and other press materials.

Single cover “TÁ GOSTOSIN”

The track no. 2 called “Tá Gostosin” featuring the legendary axé music group É o Tchan was released as an album teaser, and alongside with the same group of artist professionals, we develop the single cover, inspired by the visual elements present in the videoclip launched by the band.
